The Burel is a 100% sheep’s wool fabric with a medieval origin, which has always been associated with the Portuguese mountains, the shepherds, and their capes. The authenticity of Burel results from a sequence of specific operations in the manufacturing process.
After being sheared, washed spun, and woven on the loom the wool is “ trodden “ in a machine called a stomper that beats and scalds the wool, transforming the fabric into sackcloth, making it tighter, tough, and waterproof. Eldeven is the most sustainable and high-quality brand you can find for Pyrenean Duck Downs. They will keep you warm even in the coldest weather.

Pedro Gomez's outerwear was born in the mountains, and there is where the Burel fabric was born. In the heart of the Portuguese Mountains, a place of incredible natural beauty, we found a small village characterized by the craft industry of weaving this amazing fabric made from the finest wool.
Shepherds have lived in these mountains since 1188, so this ancient tradition has been passed down from generation to generation.

The padding is made with Eldeven 90% Pyrenean Duck Downs and 10% of Feathers, all coming from sustainable processes.

We wanted to make something durable and ready for any adventure, so we selected our waxed canvas fabric for this special edition.
Linning is made from the famous Pedro Gomez burgundy fabric used for sleeping bags, giving a personal touch of color to this beautiful mustard-waxed canvas. It comes with 4 exterior pockets (one flap pocket and one 3x tools pocket), one inside pocket with zipper, and our signature leather piece in the back.
Virgin Wool in Ecru
This exclusive vest has the lining made by the famous British manufacturer Liberty, gives a touch of color to this beautiful Ecru Burel.
It also comes with a natural shearling collar, 2 exterior pockets, one inside pocket with zipper, and our signature leather piece in the back.
Herringbone Wool + Leather in Brown
On the top of the vest, you will find our Specialty Vegetable-Tanned Leather that will evolve over time and create a beautiful patina.
Lining is made with the finest navy wool, giving an elegant touch to this beautiful Brown Herringbone Burel.
It also comes with 2 exterior pockets, one inside pocket with a zipper, and our signature leather piece in the back.
